Deha Yoga Class Descriptions

Foundations

This is our introductory class. It’s great for students that are new to yoga, those interested in sprucing up on alignment or for those recovering from an injury. This practice will help ALL yogis build a solid foundation and will prepare them to move into the Vinyasa classes, if they so choose. All levels, 75 degrees.     *Saturday's class is a Community Class.

Slow Flow

A vinyasa flow A deliciously slow-moving and fluid vinyasa class that allows you to find your own sweet groove. Each posture is expressed organically and mindfully, and your instructor will offer you many options for either going deeper or lightening up, and it will all depend on your mood! Solace for your whole being and a nice way to slow down without sacrificing your love for the flow! The level of the class will depend on the teacher and the needs of the students. You can always make classes easier or more challenging for yourself by following the teachers' cues for variations and modifications of the poses. 80 degrees.

Guided Savasana

Savasana: Corpse Pose > A 30-minute deeply intentional rest. You have the option to stay upright, in a seated position (such as in meditation) or to recline on props for a more physically relaxing experience. You will be guided slowly into a deeper state of calm, emerging from this mini yogic "nap" with greater clarity of mind, more evenly distributed energy and a renewed zest for life! A regular savasana practice can help alleviate anxiety, stress, depression, insomnia, gastrointestinal challenges and even skin conditions. Please note that this class is limited to 12 students; please register online to save your spot! All levels, 75 degrees.    *This is a Community Class!

Guided Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a guided relaxation practice and involves building awareness across all states of our consciousness, including our mind state of unconscious, or deep sleep. This practice of allows us to access a much deeper quality of rest and assists in unwinding patterns of stress in the body and mind. With a regular practice, you will begin to see the benefits Yoga Nidra offers - consistent energy through the day, a more restorative and regular night's sleep and a deeper connection to a relaxed body and mind. Please note that this class is limited to 12 students; please register online to save your spot! Please note that this class is limited to 12 students; please register online to save your spot! Gentle

A slower paced class for days when a more nurturing & relaxing practice is just what you need. Gentle Yoga provides all the benefits of a yoga experience at a slower, easier pace. By focusing on alignment principles, breathing techniques and modifications of basic poses, yoga becomes accessible to everyone, regardless of age, fitness level or physical challenges. Also a great class for the beginning yoga student. All levels, 75 degrees.

Vinyasa

A vinyasa flow practice where we explore all the usual postures (sun salutes, the warriors, backbends, hip openers) in a fluid and creative way. This is a practice where you can lose yourself in the simple rhythm of linking breath with movement. The level of the class will depend on the teacher and the needs of the students. You can always make classes easier or more challenging for yourself by following the teachers' cues for variations and modifications of the poses. 80 degrees.

Restore

This class is a stress BUSTER. Each posture is typically held for 4-10 minutes and is completely supported by props. No stretching, no muscular stress, just sweet, mellow release. Recommended at least once a week for maximum benefits that extend into all aspects of your life. All levels, 75 degrees.

Yin

This is a practice that stays low to the floor, but works deep into the connective tissues, fascial networks and joint capsules of the body. Primary focus is placed on the pelvis. Postures are held for extended periods of time to allow for muscular release. Once muscles release, the deeper “yin” tissues of the body are able to receive the benefits of the posture. For many, this class provides a deep energetic release as well. Because Yin Yoga targets ligaments, bones and joints, it is not recommended for those working with an active or recent injury, or for women in their 3rd trimester of pregnancy. 75 degrees.

Sacred Sunday

A 2-hour practice on Sunday mornings dedicated to the union of self with spirit. Arrive with an open mind in order to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of yoga– chanting, meditation, energy work, pranayama, physical movement, yoga philosophy… nothing is off-limits in this powerful practice. This class is not appropriate for a beginner student as more challenging postures are taught. 80 degrees.

Yoga Roll

Yoga Roll is a deconstructed yoga class that emphasizes the use of self-massage techniques using therapy balls to reduce muscle tension followed by rhythmic yoga poses to help increase strength. Designed for students who are looking to decrease pain and increase mobility. Suitable for all levels who seek stress reduction and search for more tools assisting with their journey to better body awareness. All levels, 75 degrees.
