Deha Yoga is proud to call Anchorage home. And because Anchorage is home, we know it to be our responsibility to spread kindness, peace and love wherever we go. We also believe that yoga should be accessible to ALL, so we strive to make this a reality through several outreach and donation-based practices.
There is one regularly scheduled class each week (Friday nights at 7pm) that are open to all for a cash donation ($10-$20 suggested). These donations go directly to our chosen Charity of the Quarter.
Our current Charity of the Quarter is Cook Inletkeeper - a non-profit that has been protecting Cook Inlet's watershed since 1995! Visit their website HERE to read all about their mission, programs and good works!
If you registered for class online and do now show up and the class is full or was waitlisted, you will forfeit a class from your package. If you are using an unlimited package, you will be charged $10. Forfeited classes go into a special pool and at the end of each month, all the forfeited classes are donated (as free class cards) to Deha’s Charity of the Quarter (this helps those not able to afford a package or membership get to yoga!). A similar policy for the $10 late fees – all late fees will be totaled at the end of each month and that amount goes directly into a scholarship fund for Deha’s teachers (a fund that helps teachers get additional training).
These classes usually fall on some sort of celebratory day (for example, a teacher’s birthday or National Waffle Day). They are free.
